BNL Chatter / Barenaked Advice / Class Reunion Choice
| bnldavid | Sep 5th 10:05 am
Okay…I need your input. Let's pretend you are having your 30 year class reunion next summer. You have two choices….which would you want to attend? A. An informal event at an indoor/outdoor camp facility. Mid-afternoon picnic in a shelter with music, beer, wine, soda, snacks. Activities would include a volleyball tourney, scavenger hunt or just hanging out with classmates. About 6pm walk to the main lodge for an informal dinner featuring Brats, burgers, salads, beans, dessert, etc. After dinner options would include a DJ/Karaoke in the lodge or enjoy time by a campfire outside on the terrace. Beer/Soda/Wine free all night. BYOB if you want mixers. Camp is located 8 miles from town just off a major freeway. Cost: $ 25 per person. B. A casual dinner at a local service club building or ballroom. Event starts at 6pm with cocktails, dinner and then a DJ/Karaoke. Dinner would be heavy hors d oevres. Beer/Soda/Wine free all night. Cash bar for mixers. Building is located on Lake Michigan in town. Cost: $ 40 per person. I want your HONEST opinion…you will not hurt my feelings either way. |

Personally I would like the outdoor event. Something I could bring the family to if I wanted. And I could skip the day events and just hit the evening dinner. |

I agree with Taz completely… but then you already knew that. *g* |

Camp. Rock on. |

Sorry…..no family invited. We did a picnic at the 10 year and 20 year to bring your adorable kids. At our age, most everyone has college and high school kids. Besides….there is a pond and a pool at camp. Could be "nightswimming" if you catch my drift…. *eg*

I agree about the camp thing - I'm also thinking in terms of $$$. |

Camp 100%

I'm with everyone that says the camp. Seems like it would promote more co-mingling than the other. |

Camp was approved by the committee! With some tweaking. We are going to have a PIG ROAST (along with other choices) and still do it up casual. I am very excited to get going now that this fucking bullshit is behind us. And the main bitch who was holding all this up with her snooty ideas was not there tonight (even though she was the one who demanded this meeting tonight). So thanks for your input. I used your opinions in my presentation tonight. |

ROTFLMAO! From my son who worked at camp for 3 summers and went to camp for years…. "That sounds like a great venue and I am sure you guys will organize it right. Just promise me that none of your so called "generation" are going to rekindle their high school romances by doing the hibbity dibbity in the camp tee pee's or cabins. Ew." *eg*

I cannot believe this debate will not die. So 8 reunion committee members voted for the camp idea. Now out of the weeds comes "little miss wants fancy pants dinner dance" and she just wont let this go. She is on the phone tonight drumming up support and trying to bring "new" members to the meeting tomorrow night who support her snobby cause. Fuck. |

If they weren't on the committee to begin with, they get no vote. THAT'S WHY YOU HAVE A COMMITTEE. Sheesh. Dumb broad. you want I should come kick her in her fancy pants? |

Naw….after showing the other members the layout at camp…they are 100% behind my behind. But we did decide to not call it camp. The main lodge is named after that famous bratwurst company…so the invite will read something like…. "Join your classmates for an evening of casual food, fun and surprises at the Johnsonville Lodge." In the directions, we will say. The Johnsonville lodge is located 5 miles west of Sheboygan in the Camp Y-Koda complex. Look for the signs. |
