WHY is he on my television screen when I wanna watch the World Series ? I didn't ask to see his mug. If I WANTED to see his face or hear his message, I'd turn to his own god damn dishnet channel that airs 24/7 and has special buttons pointing to it. I see that he's also on the other 3 major networks for a 30-minute forced infomercial. |

There's a channel button on your remote, no one's forcing you to watch anything. There's nothing wrong with a candidate paying for ad time. It frightens me that there are so many Americans that would rather watch a sporting event than listen to what a presidential candidate has to say. |

Wow…you might want to get cable or something. If all you have are 3 channels. Sheesh.

Ha ha ha I get the joke. Someone who supports the republican ticket is complaining about a "power-hungry fuckball!" Now that's funny! |

Be nice guys! |

Caught a bit of the Dali-bamas 30 min info sob fest….what a bunch of horseshit. He treats it like there aren't any gov't programs to help these people…the food stamp program keeps getting larger, and they even advertise it. A real Oprah produced tearfest. If Obama was as compassioniate as he says, then he'd be helping his half brother who lives in a hut in Kenya ( this guy lives on 20 bucks a year). Or, he'd be helping his auntie who lives in a Boston slum…guess he really isn't hit brothers or sisters keeper…unless it's on someone elses dime. What a fookin hypocrite. JRB |

Obama is invasive and devisive. Two qualities I don't even tolerate out of my own friends, let alone a politician. If people don't want to watch and listen to the man, they shouldn't have to. They should be able to watch a World Series pregame without listening to Obama's message beforehand. I understand that there are other channels to watch until his message is over. But Why should people even have to keep switching back and forth to check if he's still on their screen ? Who wants to do that ? If they want to see him, again, he has his very own channel that shows plenty of hiim and his message, I'm sure. People can "hear what a presidential candidate has to say". 24/7. Why does he need to whore up the World Series ? I have no interest in "driving a truck into the White House". |

"Power-hungry F*ckball" got you to open up this thread and read MY message, didn't it ? Doesn't mean you have to open it up again. But what if I made 30 threads on your board about my disdain for Obama's campaign ? Do I really have the right to do that ? Wouldn't you find it to be extremely "invasive and devisive" ??? I rest my case. |

>If people don't want to watch and listen to the man, they shouldn't have to. They should be able to watch a World Series pregame without listening to Obama's message beforehand. You could argue that about any advertising, really. I don't like seeing tampon commercials and ads for sugared cereals while I'm trying to watch an episode of The Office, but I'm aware that it's part of my choice to watch network or cable TV. He paid for advertising, just like any other tv ad spot. You don't have to like it, by all means… but he has a right to buy air time if the stations are willing to sell it. I wish McCain had the funding to do the same, I would've watched it.

Obama is invasive and devisive. Two qualities I don't even tolerate out of my own friends, let alone a politician. Oh really? Mike, you're probably the most divisive person on this board. You're one of the first to tell others to move to a different country when they disagree with you. And all we hear coming out of the McCain/Palin camp is stories of two different Americas: The Real Americans and The Other Guy. Invasive and divisive?? Unbelievable. Do you think before you comment, or do you just parrot O'Reilly? |
| Richard | Oct 30th 5:50 pm
But what if I made 30 threads on your board about my disdain for Obama's campaign ? Do I really have the right to do that ? No, I'd just think you're an overreaching nutjob…but it's unnecessary. Please explain how a candidate advertising on public broadcasting is either invasive or divisive. |
| MiT | Oct 30th 6:01 pm
Who is O' Reilly ? Makes me think of Auto Parts.

Nice try, by the way. We don't need to switch the subject to whether I'm devisive. I feel like I simply state the obvious; i.e. if you feel Europe is so much better than your country, perhaps you should go live there when you can. What's not obvious about that reply ? I told you - both on this thread and in great detail on one other one - WHY the intrusion on the World Series and the other 3 Major networks at the EXACT same time is invasive and devisive. The man does not intend to give our minds a break. He intends to pound his image and his voice into the minds of the public regardless the cost, and with whatever medium necessary. His "message" is already on our TV guides, with a special button directed to this channel on all of his commercials. Is that enough for Obama ? No. Let's attempt to FORCE my time on everyone who might want to catch the beginning of the World Series, or the pregame, by putting myself on the other 3 major networks as well. Let's not give those people who don't have cable or a dish ANY choice of what to watch whatsoever except for ME. OBAMA. They gotta see ME before they see the Series no matter where they switch that channel. Actors/Actresses. Musicians. Athletes. Talk Show Hosts. Comedy Shows. Newspapers. Newscasts… regardless of the channel. Late Night Shows. This man is making sure he is foreced down our throats. Completely. This kind of force should be able to put a CHIHUAHUA into office. Yet the outcome is still in question. GO FIGURE. I even threw my last Sports Illustrated issue away. It astounds me that more folks aren't even somewhat mildly concerned by this. |

Was there a World Series game scheduled for that night? I know it was a make up game for Monday night. If that's the case, then he bought the airtime on a night when the WS wasn't even supposed to be played so how is he to be at fault for interupting your precious ball game? They didn't even know that game was going to be played that night until that afternoon didn't they? |

Really….did you even read the article? You know…where it says "without endorsing a party in the upcoming U.S. presidential election"? Come on people….play nice… |

Read between the lines…voting against a party is the same as voting 'for' a party… Geez… JRB |

...voting against a party is the same as voting 'for' a party… Really? Probably one of the silliest things I've read on here. |
