-18 here in Ohio and I must say, kudos to all of you who live in this type of weather. My van started after screaming at me, never warmed, never defrosted then overheated…then I got stuck in the snow when I was trying to back up to turn around after I started the van again. My eyes were tearing up like crazy and I was stunned to find ice on my eyelashes…

You guys can have it. I want no part of this insane cold…(i know, it's warm for some of you lol but this is frickin' OHIO)

We're cancelled day #2 here because of the cold, too.  -25 right now.  I think the biggest issue isn't the busses, but rather the kids that have to walk (sometimes as far as a mile) to school because they're too close to be in the bussing zone.  When the wind chill is -50, exposed skin can freeze literally in minutes.

I think around here the schools have maybe been closed twice in the last 20 years. They don't care if its -40, you still have to go to school.

Dean.. you have had it freaking seriously cold out there… brrrr….

here.. in Ontario.. it has been minus 28 celcius the past few days….  colder than a witches tit….

it's so cold that the dog pissed on the deck the other day.. she didn't want to travel too far from the house.. dumbass canine…

it's so cold that… Richard Simmons is wearing shorts that come nearly to the half-thigh region.

it's so cold that…. my sweetie's balls have become ovaries….

it's so cold that….you have to open the fridge to heat the house

it's so cold that…  only people like "Ed" and "Bob" have enough time to write their names
in the snow.

and I am scheduled to go ice fishing in February..for 5 glorius days…. where it is minus 40 celcius… yes.. those of you from my facebook can shiver and recall last years photos!!!!

I just may have to zip up my jacket…...

and jen… I do believe that I may have to use that quote as well…  that is up there with "Fuck em and feed em fishheads…"

*high fives*

There is something seriously whack with the weather.  Here in the bay area of the west coast it's 70 degrees.  It's normally in the 50s.

I have the day off and now I'm going to have to work on painting my house.  I need to take advantage of the nice weather and make some progress.  No fun.  It will require that I wear a dust mask because I'll need to sand down the side of the house before I prime it.  Dust will get everywhere, in my eyes, on my clothes, in my hair.  Then the oil based primer smells really bad and it will give me a headache and make me dizzy.  It's such tedious, boring work.  My day (and night) are shot.

Fucking weather!

Darlene Jan 16th 4:38 pm

Whoo Hoo!  We've climbed to ONE degree!

So far…one dead battery (Chip)...and one popped tire(Jordan)

I don't know how all of you up north can stand it…  I had a training teleconference this morning with someone in Cleveland…had to change the call-in details because she had to work from home today…because of the weather!

I almost feel guilty that I drove around all afternoon with the top down…

Joe Jan 16th 7:38 pm

Watch it, Darlene

That ice ball almost knocked me off the ladder!

Time for a beer…

mox Jan 17th 7:58 pm

Yup, count me in as the second flat tire. On my way to dog training class I hit a pothole the size of Rhode Island… trying to get a cab to stop for a rotweiler isn't as easy as you might think.

Darlene Jan 27th 4:20 pm

Ok… this morning on the news…the reporter actually used a yard stick to make the observation…

"We now have 1 1/2 inches of snow on the ground."

I almost hurt myself when my mouth hit the floor…

Then driving to a patient… that normally only takes 10 minutes…took me an hour…EVERY turn trying to get away from clusters…didn't work…everything was gridlocked…

Tonight we could get up to a foot…the news stations are practically creaming themselves…you'd think it was Armageddon…

Dean Jan 27th 4:34 pm

Speaking of snow, Armageddon…..and news people:

Yup, lots and lots of snow…again. And have I still bothered to look for my snowbrush? Nope. Have I bothered to buy one yet? Nope.

Yeah, I'm an idiot…lol

moxie Jan 28th 11:04 pm

My boyfriend calls it Snowmageddon. I call it Snowpocalypse.

Sean Jan 29th 5:01 am

I was outside shoveling/chiseling our driveway last night right as it was getting dark and I heard the unmistakable scream of an engine and just as I thought a few seconds later my cousin Nyle tore down our street on his 600cc Arctic Cat. He said he has that one plus his two other snow mobiles over at our other cousins house down the road at tleast through the weekend. I think I'm going to go over and go play today or tomorrow. I'd like to take Noah for his first snow mobile ride.
