Why all the secrecy?

Thanx everyone! I'm still in shock, even tho he technically asked me over Thanksgiving lol

The secrecy is more because I still haven't told my family, friends or coworkers--aside from my mom, mathew and katy. They've known and are happy. Actually, mum's making my dress for me and katy's helping me coordinate things for the wedding.

The reason I hadn't told anyone yet is because although we are engaged, I don't have my ring yet lol it's being set on Monday. :)

He took me (and all of the kids--so it was a family affair lol) to the jewelry store and had me pick out my ring. Then we picked out our wedding bands.

He wants to ask my mom permission (even tho she's already on board and is going to make my dress--and he knows this lol) and he wants to pick when to propose with the ring in hand. Meaning, he gets to pick and I have to wait. lol

Only one or two people know at work--and I had to tell my supervisor b/c they were making this year's plans that heavily included me…and I'll be moving out of state once we're married. So, although she was very happy, she told me I sucked. lol

Anyway, I came out of the bridal closet (online at least) because of my fiance. He's new to Facebook and put us down as engaged, which changed my status to engaged as well. When he told me he could change it back since I wasn't ready to tell everyone, I thought, why? I *am* engaged and I'm enjoying the hell out of it! So…I shared. lol

For those wondering, we're marrying on August 22, 2009 and no, I'm not pregnant. lol We have 4 kids, 4 dogs and 1 cat (would've been two, but I gave Frog to Katy) in our family, so we're not looking at kids in any immediate future lol

We have the blessing of our children and of our parents.

So, this year, I become a Mrs.  :o)

Where am I moving? Indiana. Terre Haute to be exact. It's about a 5 hour drive from little Nap-a-thon, but the drive doesn't seem that long anymore lol

I'm going to slowly start moving things every time I visit. By the time August comes around, I'll be almost completely moved. Just the big stuff, and we can rent a trailer for that.

It's exciting and scary at the same time. I've lived in this area my entire life…and now i'll be in a whole other state, away from my mom and Katy. That's one of the big reasons the wedding is here in Nap-a-thon--sort of a big celebration/send off/good-bye. I'm looking forward to it all tho, I really am. :o)

Ha ha ha…well, let's just say mutual friends pushed us to get together.

DeeK was actually in on it once he and I started seriously considering dating each other. He had become good friends with her through me, and she was thankfully each of our sounding board when we needed it. We were both reluctant to fall in love but…well, here we are lol

my gawd girl… yea.. I just wrote on facebook too… and I sooooooooooooooooooo excited for you… I wish I could hug you…
