So….caught the new BNL 4 show last night at Summerfest in Milwaukee. I will try to list all the songs they played…but yeah…keep in mind my mind isn't 25 anymore. Oh and before the show…I spotted Ed walking out of the back headed out into the Summerfest grounds in search of food. When he came back, Jamie chased him down and talked to him. She told him that we were excited to see the show and good luck…he very graciously said "Thank You, I hope you enjoy it" and headed off to eat his dinner. Here is what they played: The encore: Long Way Back Home Observations. Jim Creggan is fun to watch moving around the front of the stage playing guitar and singing with Ed. His part in Old Apartment was full of energy and exciting. I actually did not have a problem at all with Ed singing the lead on that song. Or Too Little Too Late…Ed did a nice job on it and it was fun. One Week and Million Dollars were kinda fun too. I was surprised. Overall, they had lots of energy…goofed around as usual. Did some raps and spoofs singing KISS songs as KISS was playing on the main stage. Here is one major downfall as I see it. And you all know how much I love Ed Robertson. He is hot and of course, when he sings an "Ed" song When he sang "What a Good Boy"...I wanted to barf. It just was not right. I really think they should put some of the "Steve Songs" in a vault and only pull them out if Steve should ever return. Such as WAGB, Call and Answer, Brian Wilson, Break Your Heart, Wrong Man was Convicted, Life, in a Nutshell, Jane, War on Drugs and You will be Waiting…Just to name a few.

The folks over on the BNL net board said good things about the show too. Looking forward to new music! I also agree that some "Steve Songs" should be put in the vault and saved for the "Steve's Back" tour. |

One more thing… A few of the people who went to Summerfest for the first time (road trippers to see BNL) said that they were suprised that there were so many drunk people. Some things never change! |

Yeah..we saw plenty of that. The problem is that Summerfest schedules all the "headliners" that are not playing on the mainstage to start at 10pm. They must be figuring folks will be staying all day to eat and drink. Which for some idiots is the case. We cruised in at 7pm, had dinner and 3 beers and watched the show. We saw plenty of drunks too. In fact I tossed a few off my space on the benches that would just jump up and push us over to take our spots. |

David said, "In fact I tossed a few off my space…" You go, boy. Did you kick some of them off FaceBook and LinkedIn too? :-) |

Don't piss him off, or he'll take action. He's not afraid to get out a handheld electronic device and type a few things in. On another note, here's a video of a new song from a gig this week: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjlvvg1UYBw |
