My back is KILLING me..

Spent 3 1/2 hours in the chair last night. The biggest one to date.  Not looking forward to the shower this morning.

Taz Sep 26th 12:07 pm

Oh come on…no pictures?  Although I suppose we could wait considering it most likely looks all icky!

C-pher Sep 26th 1:50 pm

Yea, it's icky…and Peanut just put lotion on it and I'm in some WICKED pain.  The shower was NOT fun.

tj Sep 26th 4:08 pm

so, the next logical question, what is it of?

C-pher Sep 26th 4:42 pm

It's a flag…a very big flag. LOL!  I'm sure that people are going to say, what were you thinking?  Are you serious? I like it…it's whimsical and fun.  And it's one that I've wanted for a long time.

Now that I got a picture of it, I've already talked to Mikey, and we're going to touch it up some more…so another round of "fun" on my spine.

tj Sep 26th 5:59 pm

It is good work and looks good though….. but not for me, but as long as you like it, that's all that matters LOL…..

All I have to say is that my wings (which are a smidge higher than yours) were the most painful thing that I have had inked or pierced. I have had cartiledge piercings, body piercings and the whole shebang…. most of the piercings hurt longer in the after care process but it wasn't as sevre as there were ways to keep the pain to a minnimum, not with that tat….. It hurt like Hades for a few days afterwards then started to get a bit better…..

makes me want to go out and get my work done that much sooner!......

C-pher Sep 26th 7:08 pm

Yea, of all my Tattoos, this one hurt the most.  I've never pierced anything…but HOLY MOLY!  I yelled out a few choice words here and there.

Once, when he was working on the blue…I told him, "If I didn't ask you do this, I would punch you in the face for that one." LOL!

tj Sep 27th 8:15 am

HAHA, yeah, a face punch about sums it up too LOLZ. Mine was all in black and it has some lavender shadding (more like a wash to give the wings some color) I have wanted to expand it but have been scared because of the pain LOL. Same with the next tattoo I want to get, I am considering two places for them (it is a set of tattoos) and either doing my wrists or my shoulders…. right now, it scares me to do my shoulders again LOL.

C-pher Sep 27th 8:41 am

I know…it's weird.  I know that it's going to hurt…but it's the end that makes it worth it.

When I did the arm bands…I was telling him…man, this isn't that bad….until he got under my arm.  Then it was HORRIBLE!  But each band has meaning for each of my kids…so the pain was worth it for the final product.

I know that it's going to hurt…but I have more that I'm doing on my back…so I just think about what's going to be at the end.  Then just push through.

I don't know why I do this…other than it's what I want.  I got my first tattoo when I was 17…and I just keep going.  I don't have one that's out in the open.  People are supprised when they find out I have one…let along many.  And that's what it's about.  For the most part, they are for me…I know they are there.  That's how I like it.

The only ones that are shown are my ankles in the summer.  WHen I'm wearing shorts and sandles…there's no way to hide those.  LOL!

tj Sep 27th 2:12 pm

Oh yeah. I feel ya…. I know that the ones I want, the main reason I am looking at doing it on my shoulders is that it would be more appropriate there. That and I don;t know how feel with the things being on my wrists in general. much harder to hide you know?

Big Er'n Sep 27th 4:12 pm

Hope it's not a Red Sox 2009 anything, C-pher.  Enjoy our 2nd sweep???

C-pher Sep 27th 4:35 pm

Yea, as much as I enjoyed our 8 game sweep at the start of the season…

Congrats on wining the Division!

Never had ink done….I am not scared. Just have not decided on what to do.

I don't mind tasteful tattoos…which I think your flag is.

But get me going about people whose body is a canvas…..not a fan.

Refresh me…do you have anything on your biceps?

Richard Oct 1st 7:28 am

Yeah, as far as tattoos go, that's a pretty sweet one, C-ph.  You should have got it on your ass, though. ;)

I probably wouldn't be against getting one, but I promised my uncle before he died - No tattoos, no piercings, no smoking, no drugs.

C-pher Oct 1st 7:01 pm

I have one on each shoulder, and one arm band on each arm above the sleeve of my golf shirts.  Each band is a Celtic knot that I drew up that I feel represents each of my kids attitudes…and each one has a Celtic letter, one M and one H.  Those were the longest.  That was a 6ish hour affair.  They were hand drawn and then done…as each one had to be a complete knot that was even and no gaps.

I also have one on each ankle. The first one (on my right ankle) was done when I was 17, and it's part of my time traveling with the Dead.  LOL!  I still love it even after all these years.

I think that a tattoo is a personal choice, and it must be thought out very carefully.  I have a hard time understanding the people that walk into a shop and look at all the "flash" art that's in there and pick something to have done.

The guy that did mine, Mikey…when someone asks him what they should get, he'll tell them every time, "A puppy."

I draw out each of my tattoos and keep the drawing with me…and if I end up loosing it, then it's not meant to be.  If I loose interest in the idea after a few months, then I don't get it.  I've been sitting on this flag idea for several years.  Something came up and I took the opportunity to do it.

Each one is a time in my life.  Much like the walls of a cave from many moons ago, the art on my body tells a story to me about a time in my life.  Call it Corny, but it's how I feel.  It's also the reason that I don't have them covering my body.  I've been collecting them for the past 21 years…and I'm sure that if the time comes, I'll get another.

But like I said, it will be something that holds meaning to me…so who knows when it will happen.  I have several ideas that I've thought about…but I'm still mulling around the ideas.

Once this heals and it's not all scabby, I'll take another picture so you can see it completed.

I don't have any tattoos. My boyfriend does. They're not the only thing that make him infinitely hotter than me, but they're a start. (He'd shit if he knew I was posting his photo on the interwebs, so I'm cropping him, you can see the complete photos on facebook.)

Don't get mad, David. This is the only cigarette (well, pack of cigarettes - shared with two friends) that I've seen him smoke in the year that we've dated.

His right arm is fully-sleeved with black and white, but it's sort of smaller black and white tattoos of religious icons and escher/dali art fused together by a cloud-like canvas. That runs over the front of his right shoulder and onto the right half of his chest.

His left arm is a color half-sleeve (bottom half), it's really pretty, but the photos don't do it justice (mostly because the best parts are on his inner arm and I don't have any photos).

He has a few more on his legs that are more personal, two crosses on his calves, and a tattoo that looks like writing quills on his lower back.

He's the hottest thing alive… now that I'm used to that luxury, I'm not sure what I'd do with a guy who didn't have tattoos. Or maybe I just don't know what I'd do with a guy that wasn't Ken.

Cool flag Cph!

Damn, Mox…your boy toy is definitely inked up!

Me--no tattoos. I wanted to get eyeliner tattoo before I got married, but the place I wanted to go to, the chick moved. It's considered cosmetic surgery, even tho it's just a tattoo. So, no ink for me.

I wouldn't get anything else, unless I got super sexy bitch skinny, then maybe a chinese dragon on my calf. :o)

But, since I'm just getting fatter (but am happy lol) no tattoo for me. lol

C-pher Oct 5th 6:35 pm

Nice work…

I don't have anything that's visible…but I've often thought of a sleve…

I did have grand thoughts of a complete back peice…but it never happened.

Taz Oct 7th 8:52 pm

My son just got his 1st tattoo last Friday…a tribute to his dad.  Has his dad's name, date of birth, day he died…and 2 margarita glasses.  It looks amazing.

Not the greatest pic…and it was taken 2 hours after he got it…so he is pretty bruised.  There was no color applied…so the red is all bruising.

I love that he got this...it seems fitting…

C-pher Oct 8th 6:00 am

That's really nice…  A lot of that purple color will also go away as the stencel that he put down wears off.

You'll have to get another pic in a two weeks when it heals up.
