The Harvard School of Medicine has approved the application of Andrew and has sent a formal request to interview him in early November.

He has to send them 3 possible dates he is available.

I have absolutely no clue what to say.

How many parents of children who grew up in Sheboygan, Wisconsin can utter those words???

I am so proud, I could poop gold buttons.

I know it is a long shot for him to get accepted, but what the hell…...

And thank you Jen for all the help and support you have given him. Its no wonder he told you first after his parents, sisters and girlfriend!

Fleck is right…he's success is reflected on how he was raised.  So, in all honesty, I'm proud of you, your wife, and Andrew.

To give you some idea of how close he is to his sibs…Jenna cried like a baby when he read her the email.

Wow…they've already confirmed a date.

He wants to do this alone. I offered to go along.

You should come anyway and just see the town…have a beer with a buddy…and let him do his thing.

We've decided this is going to be an important step in his life and working towards getting him to be more secure in being on his own. So we are not coming along…he is doing this himself.

It is a longshot, but what has me thinking is that he has never been this far from home. He has always been 2 hours or closer by car. I just hope that when it comes to making a decision and choosing a school, he weighs everything. I dont want him to pass up an opportunity because he will be homesick or miss his family and friends.

But at the same time, I dont want him to be miserable.

I know…I am putting the horse before the cart. He's not even seen the campus yet or been offered anything.

That's fantastic…and that's great that you and Jodi are letting him do this on his own. You're right, he needs to spread his wings.

I'll tell you what tho, the more than 2 hours thing can hit hard, but I know that you and Jodi will help him through it all. You guys are the greatest.
