BNL Chatter / Misc. / part time job ideas?
| mox | Dec 14th 11:44 pm
Hey kids… I'm looking for creative part-time job ideas. I'm going back to school this January. My weeknights will be booked solid, so I'll mostly just be looking for morning/daytime/weekend employment. Dog training keeps me busy Saturday mornings. Any suggestions would be awesome. Sorry I put this in Misc. No one's touched the advice section since early November. Thought I'd do better here. xo, |

I guess you need to find out what it is that you enjoy the most on your off time…then look for a part time job doing that. I have always did part time work at places like Dick's Sporting Goods, Bass Pro Shop, Local Packy's, helping at shows with friends that own shops…etc. If you enjoy it, then it's more like you're getting paid to do what you enjoy…not really for working…as you'd be doing this anyway. Does that make sence? |

Have you ever worked as a server? It's a pain but you can make good money in a short amount of time. Bartending, too. And someone as adorable as you is sure to make double the tips. Not sure how the market looks out there but it's a thought. |

That sounded better in my head. |

I'm picturing you actually tipping her. Like cow-tipping. Except Mox-tipping. Heh. |

I waited tables and Bartended for many, many years. It's a good gig, and if you can handle the people…like Jen said…you can make some money. I don't know about Chicago, but i was thinking about bartending again..and it seems that unless you've gone to "Bartending College" no one will hire you here. I knew that when I bartended in New Orleans, I had to apply for a State Alcohol Card before I could work behind the bar as well. In Memphis it didn't matter…so look into that one. You make almost three or four times the amount of tips bartending than you do waiting tables. I like Jen's idea of Mox-Tipping. LOL! |
