Well, there will be.

Andrew David Prigge has been accepted at the Rochester University Medical School!!!!

Ironically, he was enroute home tonight for a dentist appointment and his phone rang. It was a secretary calling to inform him that he as been accepted.

Now….he has until May to give them his answer. Of course he will wait to see if he gets any other offers, but man this is so great.

He has options.

My son….my son is going to be a doctor.

Am I proud?

Im over the moon proud too buddy. This is seriously so great… and so deserved!

I would imagine there will be a road trip by mom and dad just to check out the city and stuff.

Now he sends in a deposit and waits to see what else happens in terms of Harvard and Wisconsin. Or if he hears from the others he applied to.

By May he makes a decision.

But now at least he does not have to worry about what the heck he will do next year.

He will be going to Medical School.

I also see a moving van in my future going somewhere couches, tvs etc etc. 

What was the U-Haul slogan? 

Rochester is a decent town.  A lot of engineers in my area went to RIT.  It's a great place if you want him to study more than party…the city closes down pretty early, so the night life is pretty tame.

Lol…I think he has had plenty of nightlife in Madison, WI.

He has said that basically, this will be his last "summer" before hell starts. So I am not sure if that means he will be home all summer before he starts or if he will be in Madison until his lease runs out…I guess we will see.

Now the big question…what about the girlfriend? She graduates in May and has to do some kind of intern program at a hospital for her career..which I have no clue what it is…something about working with kids and families in a hospital setting where she counsels them?

Anyhoo….she has said she can go anywhere for this….hmmmmm? Might she follow him?

will be interesting on the relationship front… med school is notorious for destroying relationships, but who knows. These two seem pretty in love and might just tough it out… 

aww, David! I'm so excited! Sorry that it took so long to find this! This just makes me grin so big…he's such a good kid…you and Jodi have done wonderfully with your kids.

An update on Dr. Andrew.

He has made his second visit to Rochester and loves the school and town. Met some great guys and making plans for apartments etc.

Classes start on August 9th, so we will be moving him sometime in late July/Early August.

He graduates from UW Madison on May 15 with honors. I am so proud of him.

As for the girlfriend, well time will tell. She has another semester to do yet and will be interning I think in Green Bay, WI.

Absolutely no chance of him ever getting home to see her, so yeah…this will be a challenge.

Does anyone have $ 64,000 they would like to "loan" the boy?
