A 38-year-old Sheboygan man has been charged with drunken driving after his actions in a McDonald’s drive-thru aroused the suspicion of employees, according to a criminal complaint.

Brian J. Prigge, of 512 N. Eighth St., Apt. 202, was charged Tuesday with second-offense operating while intoxicated, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail.

According to the complaint:

An employee of the McDonald’s on North Avenue called Sheboygan police about 2 a.m. Jan. 5 after Prigge slurred his words while ordering and had difficulty handling money. Employees also noticed his eyes were bloodshot.

An officer arrived just as Prigge was leaving the restaurant and pulled him over nearby. Prigge, who claimed he had not been drinking, put his car in neutral instead of park and then failed field sobriety tests.

A blood test revealed a blood-alcohol level of 0.23, three times the level considered legally intoxicated.
