BNL Chatter / Misc. / My Current Back Yard

C-pher Aug 1st 3:00 pm

Just wanted to share a picture of our backyard as we are today.

My kids have never met their Uncle Jay or their cousins…because whenever we would go and visit my parents my brother and his kids would be on a different schedule.

SO, my parents figured that the only way for all of us to get together was to fly us all out to Ponte Vedre Beach for a week.  So, we're here sunning on deck at the beach house…drinking "Key West Sunset Ale"

We were boogie boarding at 7 am this morning and it was already 89 outside.  There's my two girls and my brother's three boys.  SO it's a house full of kids all under 8 years old.

I'll have more pictures to follow.

Oh, this picture was just after one of the most horrific afternoon storms yesterday.

Today it's been "Wicked" sunny all day and I think that it would have been cooler if we were sitting on the surface of the sun.  haha

It's been unseasonably cool here. We've had only a few hot days so far this year. Not that I'm complaining, really. The weather's been quite comfortable for the most part. There's a very narrow span of temps that I'm comfortable with. Go too far out of it in either direction and I'm not a happy camper.

Yea, hot hot hot…but then I grew up in this. So, it not bugging me as much as it is Nicolle.  Though I have to say that SPF 50 let me down and my shoulders are crispy.  I'm going to have to go pick up some aloe.

Is that Ponte Vedra FL? If so, I am quite sad that you didn't contact me for a beer or ten…. I will let it pass for the moment because you are with family LOL.

C-pher Aug 11th 6:04 am

You posted 7 days later…how was I supposed to know that you live in Ponte Vedre??

Maybe if more people checked the board they would notice these things.

HAHAHA

Anyway, I said that I would update with some pics…so here they are.

Here's a couple of shots of the house.

Inside the house

Looking out our bedroom window.

The Cousins and the silly glasses Grandma GiGi got them.

Our backyard.

The cousins and families at the Country Club.

The difference in the cost of beer…and it was BOGO

The little guy that came to our table while we were drinking the beer.

The madatory Grandparents pics on the beach of the kids in matching clothes.

And the seaturtles that nested up outside our house.  If you leave your porch light on over night, it's like a 500 dollar fine or something because it screws up the hatching of the little guys.

And lastly, me enjoying a few Key West Sunset Ales listening to the iPod and surfing on the laptop.

Oh, and I SO freaking wish that we could get this up here.

The local grocery has this for buy one six, get a six free.  And it was GOOD!  We must have drank 5 or so cases of this stuff.

I am in Jax… which is about 30 minutes….... Yeah wish I would have noticed this before LOL….

We do have some decent beers down here…. Please tell me you found a way to get down to the A1A brewery in St. Augustine while you were here.

Looks amazing!!!!

it's only me Aug 12th 11:37 pm

I am so jealous right now. ;-)

C-pher Aug 16th 6:11 pm

I was actually going to the A1A Brewery when we parked in front of this British Eatery and I ended up talking to them about beers that they had…which were some I've never seen.  Had a few of those…then we walked up St. George and had a beer in every place we could find.

This was the lady that worked for a State Owned bar.  It was a pub in the living museum.

And we got a pic with her and the State Employee that does Pub Crawl Tours…we didn't go as we were making our own.

We then ended up at Scarlet O'Hara's…and I ordered me a BIG OLE plate of Fried Gator.  I was so excited to see it…and Nicolle even enjoyed it as well.  I haven't had Gator since I left New Orleans.  I downed it with a nice glass of Yuengling as we can't get that up here in the North East.

Awesome pics, C-Pher!!

O'Hara's is one of my fave places to go when I visit auggie. I like the Mill Top too. There are so many great places with beer and good music there. Yuengling is one of my fave beers….. I <3 it more than I probably should. Your pics make me want to go tomorrow…..

The british place, is it the one right across the street from the gazebo and slave block? If so, I haven't been there yet but it has been like three resturants since I have lived here LOL.

Whenever someone visits I take them to that state ran tavern you went to. It's a neat place. I also love the church. I have never been to a service there but it is so beautiful to look at, I can't help but go in. The last two times I've been they have been in the middle of service though….
